During the reign of Emperor Dezhi, when literary scholars were on the decline, the whole nation was in turmoil and the scholars were restless. Five hundred miles north of Lingzhou, there were mountains rich in precious stones. Wang Feng was the general in charge of the border defense, and the scholar Xuyan was one of his subordinates. When Wang Changling was demoted, he carried a letter with the imperial seal.
With his excellent writing skills, Wang Changling was highly respected and sought after. His words were eloquent and his actions were extraordinary. Although the six states were in frequent wars, he remained undisturbed. With his elegant clothing and dignified appearance, his writings were clear and eloquent. The strategic deployment of soldiers is like a tiger waiting to strike. Horses are well-trained and strategies are implemented swiftly. However, few have been able to utilize these strategies effectively.
The transmission of history relies on eloquence, but it is not always heard. The teachings of Wang Changling and his literary talents are extraordinary. It is not too late for him to achieve greatness. The emperor's benevolence and the power of his reign are indeed remarkable. The melancholy of his writings and the sorrow in his poems are deeply felt.
